The short answer
Nobody can say for certain whether Bitcoin is at a top, and SellSignal does not try to. What it does is measure how stretched Bitcoin looks compared with a handful of classic, widely quoted cycle-top indicators. As of 2026-10-15, the composite score is 9 out of 100, and the dashboard's reading is: Deep value / bear-market territory.
All six indicators right now
| Indicator | Value | Status | Heat (0-100) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mayer Multiple | 1.13× | cool | 9 |
| 2-Year MA Multiplier | 0.92× | cool | 0 |
| Pi Cycle Top | 47% of trigger | cool | 0 |
| Weekly RSI (14) | 57.9 | cool | 26 |
| Fear & Greed | 53 · Neutral | cool | 8 |
| Drawdown from ATH | −34.6% | cool | 13 |
How the score is built
Each indicator is converted to a 0 to 100 "heat" value by sliding linearly between a cool anchor (0) and a hot anchor (100). The composite score is the plain average of the heat values, so every indicator carries equal weight. If Fear & Greed cannot be fetched, it is left out and the rest are averaged. The weights and anchors are public: nothing is hidden or tuned.
The score maps to plain-English bands: below 15 is "Deep value / bear-market territory", 15 to 35 is "Early to mid-cycle", 35 to 55 is "Mid-cycle", 55 to 75 is "Late-cycle, heating up", and 75 or more is "Near-top zone". An indicator counts as "in sell territory" when it is warm or hot, using each indicator's own thresholds, which are explained on its page.

Why a score can be wrong
- Small sample. These indicators were fitted to roughly three or four past cycles, which is not enough for statistical confidence.
- Markets change. Spot ETFs, institutional holders and a larger market may mean tops form earlier, later or at lower multiples than in past cycles. Some of these indicators fired early or never fired in the most recent cycles; each page shows the numbers.
- Price only. On-chain metrics are not included.
- Data lag. The snapshot is based on daily closes through 2026-10-15.
This page is educational and is not financial advice. A reading is a description of past price data, not a prediction.

Frequently asked questions
Is Bitcoin at the top today?
As of 2026-10-15, SellSignal's score is 9 out of 100 ("Deep value / bear-market territory"), with 0 of 6 indicators in sell territory. That describes how stretched price looks against historical rules of thumb. It does not predict what price will do next.
How does SellSignal decide whether Bitcoin is near a top?
It averages six equally weighted 0 to 100 heat values: Mayer Multiple, 2-Year MA Multiplier, Pi Cycle Top, weekly RSI, Fear & Greed and drawdown from the all-time high. Each page on this site shows the exact thresholds.
Can this tell me when to sell Bitcoin?
No. It is an educational dashboard. Past cycle patterns may not repeat, and a high or low score is not a recommendation to buy or sell.
How often is this page updated?
The numbers shown are recalculated in your browser from public price data when you load the page. A server-side snapshot also refreshes on a schedule, at least once a day, in case live data cannot be reached.
